The thirteen-card deal and the joker
Each player is dealt thirteen cards from two standard decks including jokers. The fourteenth card is turned face-up and the card below it becomes the wild joker. Two printed jokers stay in the deck. The remaining stack is the closed draw pile.
The deal is mechanical. The hidden assumption is that the wild joker is fully random. On a tabletop this is obvious. On a real-money platform it is not.
